This month, Books & Worlds is more like Books vs. World! Here's a little insight into the target and actual status of my book world:
Space Time
Should be with the editors by the end of September -> will finally be sent out next week, took much longer than hoped, but it was worth it, the book is... really good 😊
Continuum
The outline has been ready since August and I wanted to start writing the draft in October -> I will start writing in November and want to be finished by the end of the year
Second trilogy
Something is gradually taking shape here, the big picture has been clear for a long time, as have the name of the trilogy and the three individual titles – but while revising Book 2, I added a lot of notes.
Third trilogy
Until recently, all I had was the title and how this trilogy would end – and then, while fleeing the battle against the adverbs in Book 2, my brain drafted the outline for Trilogy 3 – I also have the name of the trilogy and the individual titles ... great, I already know what I'll be doing in 2027+2028.
Crowdfunding plan
According to my original plan, I should be at the point of preparing the next campaign -> change of plan, I've decided that I need to protect myself here, so I'll only do campaigns for completed trilogies or special editions – or both at the same time, so when book 3 is out, a campaign for the trilogy as a hardcover or something. There will be the option of pre-orders for this in the future.
Curly Thoughts 2025
This first collection of vignettes & aphorisms should be almost finished by now -> well, the cover is done, I'm currently working on ideas for the 12 extra pieces.
Side projects – Outer Signals
The Space World Times audio feed should be in the pre-production phase -> unfortunately, it's still just a plan, even though the technical implementation is almost complete – but I don't have the time – or better task management 😊 I just asked for feedback on the idea again – and half hoped that it wouldn't be well received, because it will be a lot of work again – but no, everyone I told loves the idea!
Anything else keeping me awake at night? -> There are a few more project ideas, but I'd better not say anything about them right now. I think it's already clear that I'm crazy.
Speaking of crazy, November is traditionally writing month—and just because NaNoWriMo officially no longer exists doesn't mean the crazy energy is gone.
In any case, I signed up for two platforms at the same time. Motto:
“Write a draft in November.”
Or as I put it: Try to outrun your brain without getting overwhelmed by the process.
You can do things like automatic learning while you sleep—can you do that with writing books too? But then again, that would be stupid, because then I wouldn't get to enjoy the best part 😉
So I guess I'll stick with my crazy plans and my attempt to capture all my ideas in words and release them into my multiverse.
